What Samasar is for

Samasar is designed to surface fast, clear updates that are relevant to Indian markets: what changed, why it matters for Indian investors, and what to watch next. Global developments are included only when they have a clear link to Indian equities, the rupee, inflation or investor flows.

Current status: preview

The site is in preview ahead of public launch. It publishes two kinds of content:

  • Official source updates — metadata read from the official RSS feeds listed below, each linked to the original, and organised into sections, a corporate actions calendar and company pages.
  • Daily Briefs — short notes written and reviewed by the Samasar Editorial Desk, with every point linked to its official source.

Official sources

What is shown from official feeds

For each official item, Samasar displays only metadata: the title, the source name, a link to the original, the publication date where the feed provides one, the section it belongs to and when it was fetched. For NSE announcement items, Samasar may provide a link to the official NSE announcements directory when an individual source document is unavailable; this directory link is not presented as the specific filing.

Full article content is not republished. Feed descriptions, article text and images are not copied or stored; the complete item always remains on the original official source.

The same limited metadata is kept in an archive so that updates stay searchable after they leave the official feeds. Archived items link to the original source like any other update.

For selected NSE filings, Samasar may display limited structured filing labels such as a company name, filing subject, corporate-action type, record date, or a board meeting’s purpose and date. NSE board meeting notices called to consider financial results are listed as upcoming results dates. Full filing text remains on the original NSE source.

Macro

The Macro section collects official economic data and monetary releases: RBI releases such as money supply, foreign exchange reserves, the balance of payments, the RBI Bulletin, surveys and monetary policy, and government data releases published through the Press Information Bureau (PIB), such as inflation, industrial production, GDP, trade and tax collections.

These are selected by fixed keyword rules on the release title. Routine daily RBI operations, such as money market operations and repo auctions, stay in the RBI / SEBI section. The PIB feed does not publish dates, so Samasar shows the date it first fetched each release.

Global

The Global section lists official monetary policy releases from the US Federal Reserve (FOMC statements, economic projections and minutes) and the European Central Bank (monetary policy decisions and meeting accounts), selected by fixed keyword rules on the release title. Speeches, interviews and other announcements are left out. Any explanation of what a decision may mean for India appears only in Daily Briefs, with the original release linked.

BSE notices

Samasar lists BSE exchange notices about a company’s equity shares — new listings, trading suspensions and their revocation, delistings and changes of trading group — with the company name and the kind of notice read from the official notice title. Other BSE notices, such as bond or demat auctions, are left out. BSE company announcements are not yet included.

Company pages

Company pages group the same limited NSE metadata by listed company, using the company name in the official feed. They show filings and corporate actions with links to the original documents, and no prices, ratings or recommendations. Pages with very few updates are kept out of search results until they have more to show.

How updates are prioritized

Samasar may prioritize official source updates using transparent signals such as source type, filing category, structured filing labels and recency. This ordering helps readers scan updates; it does not predict market movements and is not investment advice.

The live updates stream is shown newest first by default; prioritized order is optional. Items whose feed gives a date but no time receive no recency boost.

On the homepage, Samasar may select a varied set of prioritized official updates when similarly scored items are available. This improves scanability and does not change the complete chronological or prioritized source feed.

Corporate-action cards may show an Ex-date and a Record date when these are present in official NSE metadata. Full filing text remains on the original source.

Filing classification

Samasar may label selected NSE announcement items using their limited structured filing subject. Labels such as Results, Fundraising, Board decision, Compliance and Other filing are organizational labels only, assigned by fixed keyword rules applied in a set order.

These labels may modestly adjust prioritized order, for example placing routine compliance filings lower. No filing is hidden. Labels do not predict price movement, financial performance or investment outcomes; readers should open the original NSE source to verify each filing.

Corporate Actions Calendar

The Corporate Actions Calendar organizes limited metadata from the official NSE Corporate Actions feed by date. For each item it may display the company name, the corporate-action type, the ex-date, the record date, the source publication time and a link to the original NSE source.

Items are grouped by ex-date, or by record date when no ex-date is listed, using India Standard Time. Action types such as dividend, bonus or split are matched only from keywords in the official action label; anything unclear is shown as another corporate action.

The calendar does not display prices, recommendations, eligibility calculations or full filing text. Dates and details can be revised; readers must verify every item with the original NSE source.

Daily Briefs

Daily Briefs are manually authored and reviewed by the Samasar Editorial Desk before publication. Each brief uses original, concise wording and links every point to its original source.

Briefs organise public information. They do not provide investment recommendations, price targets or predictions. Development examples are labelled as such and are not current market briefings. Readers should verify time-sensitive information using the linked original source.

Daily Digests

Daily Digests are compiled automatically, with no writing and no AI. The morning digest covers official updates published from 6 pm IST the previous day to 8:30 am IST, and the evening digest covers 8:30 am to 6 pm IST, so every update appears in exactly one digest.

Updates are grouped by type (central banks, economic data, RBI and SEBI, results filings, company announcements and corporate actions) and listed in prioritized order using the rules described above. Each digest also lists corporate actions with an ex-date that day (morning) or the next day (evening). Digests contain no commentary; every item links to its original source.

Market desk context

Samasar’s market desk label is an editorial scheduling aid based on India Standard Time, weekends and a locally maintained holiday list. It is not an official exchange-status service. Readers should verify trading schedules and special sessions through official exchange notices.

Future source policy

  • Clear source links and attribution on every update.
  • Independent, concise summaries written by Samasar.
  • No republishing of full article text from other publishers.
  • A focus on market relevance rather than the volume of stories.
