Who we are

Samasar (samasar.in) is an India-first market-information service operated by Mayank Bairagi, based in India. For this notice, Mayank Bairagi is the person who decides how the limited information described below is handled.

Information the service may process

When you visit Samasar, our hosting provider (currently Vercel) and its server infrastructure may process standard technical request information, such as your IP address, browser and device information, the page requested, the time of the request and related log data. This is used only to deliver pages, keep the service secure and reliable, and diagnose problems.

Samasar does not keep its own copies of these request logs, does not use them to build visitor profiles and does not sell or share them. The hosting provider keeps them for a limited period under its own privacy policy.

Words you type into site search are sent as part of the page address, so they can appear in those request logs. Samasar does not store search terms or link them to you.

Where information is processed

Our hosting provider operates servers in several countries, so technical request information may be processed outside India. We rely on the provider’s contractual and security safeguards for that processing.

Official-source feeds

Samasar’s servers retrieve limited public metadata, such as titles, dates, source names and links, from selected official sources (RBI, SEBI, NSE, BSE, PIB, the US Federal Reserve and the European Central Bank) and display it with links to the original source. This retrieval does not involve your personal information, and your browser does not contact those sources unless you choose to open an original link.

No accounts or forms

Samasar does not currently offer user accounts, login, payments, newsletters, comments or personalised profiles, and it has no forms that collect personal information. If you email us, we use your message and address only to reply and keep them only as long as needed for that purpose.

Cookies and analytics

Samasar does not set its own cookies, and no analytics, advertising or tracking service is enabled. Fonts and images are served from Samasar’s own site rather than from third-party services.

If access to a preview is protected by the hosting provider’s sign-in, that provider may set a cookie needed to confirm that access.

Children

Samasar is intended for adult readers and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may ask us about personal information we hold about you, and ask for it to be corrected or erased. Because Samasar collects almost no personal information, most requests will concern emails you have sent us.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

Third-party links

Links to RBI, SEBI, NSE and other external websites take you to those sites, which are governed by their own privacy policies and practices.

Changes

We will update this notice, and the date above, before adding any feature that processes additional information, such as accounts, alerts or analytics.
